Jared Carney is the Vice Chair of McKinley’s Board of Directors. In this role, Jared is actively involved in the firm’s strategic planning and financial management. He also is a member of McKinley Alaska’s private investment team and their investment decision process. Jared is the founder and owner of Lightdale, a global holding and strategic advisory firm. This was the natural evolution of a career spent building companies and relentlessly forging partnerships with business leaders, influential philanthropists, and government officials across the  globe. Prior to Lightdale, Jared served as Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer at the Milken Institute working closely with its Chairman, Michael Milken. Before joining the Institute, Jared was a pioneer in the Internet/high-tech, and media industries where he successfully founded, launched, or helped build disruptive companies and technologies which he helped steer to successful exits. Jared sits on a number of boards, including the Arctic Circle, was the co-  founder of the Arctic Maritime Exchange, and founded the California Fund. He is a shareholder in McKinley Management, Inc. and Alaska Cargo and Cold Storage. Jared, his wife, and two children live in Santa Monica, CA.
